Overseas property for Wrocław residents: city guide

October 13, 2026

Wrocław Airport routes, apostille and sworn translators, tax office and consulates: what a Wrocław resident needs before buying property abroad.

Wrocław has a large international and Russian-, Ukrainian- and Belarusian-speaking population, a busy airport and a German Consulate General. For a Wrocław resident planning a purchase abroad, the practical questions are the same as everywhere in Poland, only the addresses differ: which flights go where, where to get a document certified, and which office handles your tax. We work online and have no office, team or events in Wrocław. The text is informational and based on public sources checked in October 2026.

Wrocław Airport and the routes

Wrocław Airport (WRO) is the main airport of Lower Silesia, served mostly by Ryanair and Wizz Air. According to press reports on the winter 2026/27 schedule, Ryanair will base nine aircraft and operate 43 routes from Wrocław, with four new ones, to Madrid, Marrakesh, Tirana and Turin, and more flights on 15 existing routes, including Malta and Palermo. Wizz Air was reported to be adding Hurghada from 25 October 2026 (three times a week until the end of April 2027) and Turin from 16 January 2027 (weekly, on Saturdays). Madrid and Turin matter for Spain and Italy, Tirana for Albania, Hurghada for Egypt, Malta for Malta. We could not open the airport's own pages for the 2026/27 timetable, so confirm each route, start date and frequency on the airport and airline sites. We do not quote prices.

Apostille, power of attorney and sworn translation for Wrocław residents

The apostille on Polish documents is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw, ul. Krucza 38/42. According to its page, you can apply in person after booking through e-Konsulat, or by post (up to 30 days); the fee shown is PLN 60 per document, to be checked at the time of application. Some documents, like diplomas and school certificates, go to other bodies. The Ministry does not work with private intermediaries.

For a power of attorney or another notarised document made at a Wrocław notary, the notary's signature has to be certified first by the competent regional court, which for a Wrocław notary should be the Sąd Okręgowy we Wrocławiu (confirm with the notary), and then the apostille is added by the Ministry. Wrocław notaries are members of the Wrocław Notarial Chamber (Izba Notarialna we Wrocławiu). Ask the destination-country lawyer which form of power of attorney and which translation the foreign notary or registry will accept before you order anything; an unsuitable document costs time.

Sworn translators (tłumacze przysięgli) are listed in the Ministry of Justice register, which can be searched by language. You normally need a translation into the destination language. See apostille and legalisation, certified translations and sworn translators and power of attorney for buying abroad.

Which tax office

The PIT return goes to the tax office competent for your place of residence on the day you file, not the address where you are registered. In Wrocław the competent office depends on your address, so check it with the office finder on podatki.gov.pl. Most filings, including foreign-income attachments, can be submitted online. What to report from a property abroad and how foreign tax is credited depends on the country and on your status; our article PIT for foreigners in Poland: income from property abroad is the place to start, especially if you live in Poland on a residence card.

Consulates in Wrocław

Embassies are in Warsaw. According to the City of Wrocław, 27 consulates operate in the city: career offices of Germany (Consulate General) and Ukraine (Consulate General), a Hungarian vice-consulate, and about two dozen honorary consulates. The city's list of honorary consulates includes countries that matter to buyers: Armenia, Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Spain, Italy, Turkey and Malta, among others. We could not verify the current services and hours of any of them. The city itself says honorary consulates primarily promote cultural, business and social initiatives, so do not expect legal, tax or property advice from them; for visas and consular documents you may be directed to the embassy in Warsaw. Contact the office first.

Russian-, Ukrainian- and Belarusian-speaking community

Wrocław has a sizeable international population; the City of Wrocław mentions significant communities from Ukraine and Germany and students from Belarus, among others. In practice, Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking translators, accountants and agents are available. We give no numbers, and a recommendation from the community is a starting point, not a check. Verify the register entry or licence of whoever you hire, agree the scope and fee in writing, and send money only to the account named in the contract, never to a private person. FAQ

Does Wrocław issue apostilles? According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs page, the Ministry in Warsaw issues them on most documents. We did not find a Wrocław office for this. Notarial documents also need a regional court certification first.

Which Wrocław flights are useful for property buyers? From winter 2026/27, the press reports Madrid, Turin, Tirana, Hurghada, Malta and Palermo among Ryanair and Wizz Air routes. Always confirm dates on the airline site.

Can the German Consulate General in Wrocław help with a purchase in Germany? Consular sections handle documents and consular matters, not property checks or purchases. For the purchase you need a German notary and, optionally, a lawyer. See the country guide for details.

Where do I find the competent tax office? Use the office finder on podatki.gov.pl and enter your address; the competent office follows your place of residence.
