TÜİK data show 1,938 homes sold to foreigners in August, up 0.1% on the year, while total sales fell 14.7% to 127,410.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), as reported by Alomaliye, house sales in Turkey fell 14.7% in August 2026 compared with a year earlier, to 127,410, against 149,440 in August 2025. Over January to August, sales were down 6.8% at 950,529. New-build sales fell 4.5% to 44,378 and resales fell 19.4% to 83,032.
Sales to foreigners were almost unchanged: 1,938 homes in August, up 0.1% on the year and 1.5% of all sales. For January to August, sales to foreigners totalled 13,141, down 6.3% on the same period of 2025. Russian citizens bought the most in August (343 homes), followed by Ukrainians (147) and Iranians (140).
Mortgage-backed sales rose 7.2% to 22,131, 17.4% of all sales, and are up 27.6% over the first eight months to 188,813. The figures are official monthly statistics and can be revised. Purchase conditions and any residency rules should be confirmed with a Turkish lawyer before you buy.
