According to Realting News, the latest country risk premium table (as of 30 September 2026) puts the UAE at 2.93%, Bulgaria at 3.15% and Georgia at 3.85%.
According to Realting News, expert Prof. Nikolai Trifonov, FRICS, has explained how the Country Risk Premium (CRP) works and published a current table for a range of countries. CRP reflects the extra risk of investing foreign funds in a given country, namely the risk of a total or partial loss of a project's value due to economic, financial and socio-political factors. It is usually measured against the US dollar and calculated as CRP = (1 + Rpr) / (1 + R0) − 1, where Rpr is the yield on the country's long-term government bonds traded on international markets and R0 is the risk-free rate based on long-term US Treasury yields. In the table with a calculation date of 30 September 2026, the UAE shows a CRP of 2.93%, Bulgaria 3.15% and Georgia 3.85%. For comparison, Poland stands at 2.80%, Portugal at 3.00%, Spain at 3.29% and Turkey at 4.95%. The table marks the UAE and Bulgaria with an upward arrow and Georgia with a downward one. Cyprus is not included in the published list. According to the source, the CRP rose in about two thirds of the countries analysed over the past month. China has the lowest value (1.86%), and the list of the most investment-attractive countries also includes Canada, Sweden, Germany, Finland, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Slovenia and Thailand. Ukraine has the highest premium (10.02%), followed by Belarus (9.24%) and Russia (7.83%). Trifonov notes that the figure should not be taken too literally and that other indicators of investment attractiveness should be considered alongside it, especially for capital-intensive projects. He adds that CRP is used in valuing assets such as real estate and can help buyers gauge a property's value on the international market.
